Board-Certified Radiologist
We're excited to announce that Main Line Urgent Vet now offers outpatient ultrasound services with Dr. Robert Slater, a board-certified veterinary radiologist. Dr. Slater brings extensive training and expertise in diagnostic imaging, helping provide clear answers and support for your pet's care. He works closely with our medical team to ensure accurate diagnoses and the best possible outcomes for every patient.
Scheduling: If an ultrasound is recommended by your family veterinarian, the pet owner will contact us. We'll provide an estimate and coordinate with Dr. Slater to schedule the next available appointment. Please note that Dr. Slater performs outpatient ultrasounds exclusively on Thursdays. We'll also request your pet's medical records from your veterinarian. Once a date and time are confirmed, your pet's ultrasound will be officially scheduled.
Your pet should arrive at Main Line Urgent Vet at 10 a.m. on the day of their appointment. To prepare, please fast your pet for at least 12 hours before the ultrasound. A technician or assistant will check your pet in and answer any questions you may have. Dr. Slater will then perform the ultrasound and send а detailed report to your pet's veterinarian.
Main Line Urgent Vet contact you once the ultrasound is complete and let you know when your pet will be ready for pick-up. Dr. Slater's full report will be sent to your veterinarian, who will review and discuss the results with you.
If a needle biopsy is performed, results typically take 7-10 days, and your veterinarian will call you with the findings.
