About us

What We Offer

Whether your pet is a little itchy or having trouble breathing, the skilled team at Main Line Urgent Vet is here to help. We provide comprehensive urgent care, full emergency services, in-house diagnostic testing, and surgical treatment — all designed to quickly identify the problem and deliver the personalized care your pet needs without delay.

We understand how stressful it is to see your pet unwell. Our compassionate team offers clear guidance, timely medical support, and personalized care every step of the way. Your pet’s health is our priority — and we work hard to make the entire experience as smooth and stress-free as possible.

Urgent & Emergency Veterinary Care

Unlike traditional veterinary urgent cares that focus only on minor issues, Main Line Urgent Vet is equipped to manage both urgent problems and true emergencies. Our team provides rapid access to experienced emergency clinicians — without the long waits or high costs of a traditional ER — ensuring your pet receives the care they need when every minute matters.

Examples of conditions we commonly treat:

  • Vomiting, diarrhea, or loss of appetite

  • Trauma, wounds, abscesses and lacerations

  • Coughing, sneezing, or difficult breathing

  • Limping, trouble walking, or neck and back pain

  • Urinary issues

  • Allergic reactions, hot spots, and skin irritations

  • Ear infections and eye infections

  • Toxins

  • Foreign bodies

  • Seizures

  • Heat Stroke

While we do not offer overnight hospitalization, the majority of emergencies can be stabilized and treated the same day in our facility. If your pet requires continued intensive care or overnight monitoring, we will coordinate a seamless referral to a 24-hour emergency hospital.

In-House Radiology & Ultrasound

Digital Radiology Unit

  • Provides radiographs within minutes for fast, accurate imaging
  • Images can be reviewed by a veterinary specialist as quickly as 30 minutes for expert interpretation

Ultrasound Services

  • Emergency-level ultrasound available daily for rapid assessment of internal organs and critical conditions.
  • Full abdominal ultrasound with a board-certified radiologist is available every Thursday
Surgery & Endoscopy

Various medical conditions and injuries require surgical intervention. At Main Line Urgent Vet, we offer a wide range of surgical procedures, including (but not limited to):

  • Exploratory surgery and foreign body removal
  • Cystotomy
  • Urethral obstruction relief
  • Pyometra treatment
  • Laceration and wound repair
  • Enucleation
  • Tail amputation

Endoscopy
Endoscopy uses a long, flexible tube with a tiny camera to view the inside of the body. In many cases, this technique allows us to safely remove swallowed foreign objects without the need for an invasive surgical procedure.

After surgery, your pet will be closely monitored by our medical team to ensure a smooth and comfortable recovery. While we do not offer overnight hospitalization, the majority of surgeries and post-operative recovery can be safely managed within the same day at our facility. If extended monitoring or ongoing intensive care is needed, we will coordinate a seamless referral to a 24-hour emergency or specialty hospital for continued support.

End of Life Care

Making end-of-life decisions for your pet is incredibly difficult, and you don’t have to face it alone. Our compassionate team is here to provide gentle, respectful support and to ensure your pet’s final moments are peaceful and filled with love. We designed our Comfort Room to provide safety and support for even the most fragile pets, without the cold sterility of a typical hospital room. The space is intentionally created to feel like a cozy living room, offering warmth and comfort during your final moments together.

Outpatient Ultrasounds

We're excited to announce that Main Line Urgent Vet now offers specialty-level ultrasounds every Thursday with Dr. Robert Slater, a board-certified veterinary radiologist.

Ultrasound is a painless, non-invasive means of obtaining detailed images of internal structures, organs, and blood flow, as well as guide diagnostic tissue sampling, allowing for clearer diagnoses and more effective treatment options.
